Client Resources

Welcome, we’re so glad you’re here! To ensure a smooth process as possible, please read through our client resources provided below:

COMMUNICATION

Email Communications:

Communication with our clients is our number one priority. We pride ourselves on our responsiveness and exceptional customer service, and strive to answer emails within 24 – 48 hours during the work week.

Call & Meeting Requests:

While we are typically unable to accommodate requests for same-day calls or meetings due to childcare, we’re always happy to schedule a phone or Zoom call using our calendar link.

Office Hours:

Our office hours are Monday – Thursday, 8 am – 4 pm MST, unless otherwise stated. On Fridays, our office is closed to allow our team to intentionally set aside time to spend with our family so we can show up with more energy, passion, and excitement when serving you.

FEEDBACK & REVISIONS

Walkthrough Videos:

In order to leave helpful feedback, we ask that you watch the walkthrough videos provided with each draft or round of revisions. These videos include important details and valuable insights that provide additional context and may influence your feedback.

As a better alternative to live meetings, these videos serve as asynchronous, recorded presentations that offer greater flexibility. Your walkthrough videos may be viewed at a time that’s most convenient for you, watched repeatedly, and/or shared with relevant team members.

Requests for Feedback:

At the time an initial draft or revision is sent, we will include a request with a specific date by which to receive your feedback and thoughts. By making these feedback requests a priority, we will be able to keep the project moving forward. Please note that if feedback is not received by this date, your project’s timeline will be reshuffled within MDCo.’s existing project load.

Leaving Feedback:

Please leave your design and/or copywriting feedback as pinned comments on PDFs or on website prototype links. This allows you to leave pinpointed notes and thoughts on specific copywriting or design elements, while ensuring your feedback is easily accessible in one place. Here’s a brief video on how to leave a pinned comment.

LOGO & BRAND PACKAGES

Logo File Suite:

Upon final approval, you’ll receive all the files you need to start using your new logo including horizontal and vertical versions, color variations (full-color, one-color, black, and white) in digital and print-ready file formats including JPEG, PNG, SVG and EPS files. Depending on your brand package, we also provide business cards and one-sheet files ready for printing or digital use, along with your email signature and social media deliverables ready for upload!

‍Logo Style Guide / Brand Guidelines:

Once your logo and/or brand is finalized, you’ll receive a custom guidelines document detailing everything from messaging, logo usage, color codes and where to purchase font licenses, to how to use your brand assets. This ensures your brand is used consistently across all print and digital platforms.

Business Card Printing:

Take printing off your plate! Once your business cards are approved and final files have been delivered, we can order, print, and ship business cards through Moo on your behalf. Moo is our recommended business card printer—their quality, price, and service are unmatched! By ordering with us, you’ll also receive a 10% discount on all printing.

WEBSITE PACKAGES

Website Strategy Session:

During your 1-Hour Website Strategy Session, we will gather any necessary background information on your business, review the overall plan for the forthcoming website, and discuss the information and assets needed for the design and development phases.

Information & Asset Gathering:

You will be provided with a handy checklist to make it easy to keep track of all of the information and assets needed for your website such as photos, testimonials, login information, etc., along with a Google Drive folder in which to upload all of your files.

We strongly encourage you to utilize both the checklist and drive folder to ensure all information and assets are easy to access and keep everyone on the same page. By being an active participant in this process, we’re able to expedite the website process and avoid unnecessary delays waiting for needed assets or information.

Website Prototype Limitations:

You’ll receive an interactive website prototype to review the design and copywriting of the initial draft and subsequent revisions of your website. We maximize the capabilities of design software to create website prototypes that mimic the feel of a live website. However, prototypes are not yet developed, functional websites, and elements such as animations, external button links, or other more complex functionality will be added once the site is approved and fully developed.

Website Development:

We develop websites through Webflow, an easy-to-use, better alternative to traditional WordPress websites. Webflow is an innovative website platform that allows us to develop fully-custom websites, while making it easy for you to use and maintain your website yourself.

Website Hosting:

Hosting is what allows your website to be made public on the internet. If you have an existing website, it’s likely hosted through a website platform such as Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, or Squarespace. By the end of the project, your new website will be hosted through Webflow and you’ll be able to end your hosting plan with your previous provider.

Once your website is developed and the final invoice paid, we’ll transfer your completed website to your Webflow account. From there, you’ll receive a short n’ sweet instructional video on how to add a hosting plan to your website. Finally, we’ll login to your Webflow account to connect the website to the domain and launch!

Domain Names:

A domain name is the official URL of your website, i.e. MothershedDesign.com. You most likely purchased your domain from a provider such as GoDaddy, Bluehost, or another provider. If your domain was purchased from a website builder/hosting platform such as Squarespace or Wix, we can assist you with transferring your domain away to a third-party domain provider such as GoDaddy. By doing so, you’ll have more flexibility and control over your domain in the future.

To launch your website, we’ll need access to your domain in order to connect it to the new website. To do this, you can either add Josiah (josiah@mothersheddesign.com) as a contributor to your domain account, or share your login details with us.

Sharing Login Information:

During the website project, you’ll create a Webflow account and share your username and password with us. To make sharing your login information as easy as possible, we ask that you do not choose the “login with Google” option when creating your Webflow account.

We may also request access to various third-party software such as your domain provider, email marketing software, online scheduler, etc. in order to use and integrate them with your new website. The best way to share your login information is via a free, secure password sharing service such as One-Time Secret or via text to Meg at (720) 320-9526.

Essential SEO Setup:

Your Website Package includes an Essential SEO Setup. This includes meta title and data descriptions, image optimization, alt text, and basic keyword research and implementation.

This setup provides your website with a strong foundation to start getting found in online search results. However, it’s important to remember that SEO takes time and is an ongoing process. If you had an existing website, Google will eventually re-crawl and re-index your new website to allow for your new website to appear in search results.

In order to improve your rankings, it’s crucial to continuously make efforts to improve SEO and drive traffic to your site by posting blogs, getting Google reviews, being listed on online directories, or getting backlinks to your website from other sites.

Website Training Video Library:

Upon launch of your new website, you'll receive a customized video training library which includes step-by-step videos on how to make basic updates and changes to your website such as editing text, swapping images, posting blogs, adding/removing team members, and more.

We highly encourage you to watch all of your training videos before making changes to your website in order to have a strong understanding of how to use your new site. Your video library can also be shared with your entire team, ensuring everyone knows how to use and maintain the website proficiently.

If you’ve watched your training videos and are running into an issue or feeling stuck, we’re here to answer any questions you may have.

Your Website Post-Launch:

Your new website is live and launched into the online world! You may be wondering, now what? Start by watching all of your Website Training Videos before making any changes or updates to your site. From there, it’s time to promote, promote, and promote some more!

Announce the launch of your new website on social media, create blog content, get Google reviews, and start getting backlinks (links to your website posted on other websites such as blogs, articles, interviews, etc.). By spreading the word, you can begin to generate traffic (and leads) to your new website!

Ongoing Website Support:

While every website includes a customized website training video library, we understand that you may not always have the time or desire to make updates yourself.

For website changes large and small, we support our clients by providing website updates on an as-needed basis. Common website updates include creating new web pages, making design changes, adding blog posts, and more. Contact us for any questions or website assistance!
